Indie developer The Windy Project–also known as Windy– is not a household name yet, but they are making their mark in the retro aesthetic genre of gaming. Established in 2022, they focus on story-driven experiences that take place in uneasy settings that have the nostalgic look and feel of a PS1 game. Currently, they have seven games in their catalog to choose from, each with a playtime spanning anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. Though they are short, they pack a punch with their horrifically thrilling stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Recently, Windy has announced the newest addition to their growing catalog: Bleach & Blood. 

Bleach & Blood is a game about working the nightshift at a laundromat in a quiet town that is undergoing a strange event. Playing as Evelyn Miller, you will have the typical working simulator experience: taking orders, washing clothes, and serving customers. When work gets slow, there’s always the option to walk around the laundromat and the surrounding spaces, just as you would at your own job; you can even pass the time with the computer in the office by playing minigames. The job would be ordinary if human remains were not discovered in town and a lockdown placed for residents. With the unknown killer still on the loose, everyone is recommended and essentially pleaded to stay indoors after dark for their own safety. As the time passes, it’s seeming as though the investigation is getting closer to finding a suspect and they are closer to you than you would think. Each customer that walks through the doors is strange in their own way, but how strange are they really? Someone close to Evelyn is being eyed as being the killer, leaving each shift she works increasingly more dangerous than the last.
