Roost Games is creating another wholesome experience for players to enjoy in their upcoming game Cat Cafe Manager 2: Big City Bliss. It is the sequel to Cat Cafe Manager, containing a Studio Ghibli inspired 2.5D artstyle and new gameplay mechanics.
The main premise of the game is that the player’s phone has been possessed by a faerie feline. This possession allows the players to see that the townsfolk are being affected by a magical force. It affects their hearts, making them feel lonely and isolated.
It is up to the player to fill their hearts! How? Well, with the help of some tasty treats, coffee, and their feline friends! There are stray cats around Folkoric City that players can slowly win their trust. Players will enter a turn-based cat-counter to meet them and discover what they like.
Players will also be able to explore the city to collect useful ingredients and crafting materials. This is a new exploration style different from the first game as it opens the town map to the players. The city also contain hidden secrets for players to uncover, centering around an old witches coven and something sinister stirring in the woods.
Although no release date has been set, Cat Cafe Manager 2: Big City Bliss has launched their first public playtests. It started on July 27th and will continue until August 3rd. However, spots are limited.
Here is what interested testers need to know about the requirements. Players will need a Steam account as the playtesting is for PC only and must be over 18 years old. In addition to that, testers will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement and fill out the playtest questionnaire before August 3rd.
The playtesting can only be done via keyboard and mouse as there is no controller support so far. Those in the playtest will report any bugs via Roost Games’ discord server, which players can join to receive more sign-up instructions.
