Well, it looks like MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is going to be popular. At least, that’s what it feels like considering the current state of the PlayStation Network. As of writing, PSN is still down. It has been down several hours after a short Amazon Web Services outage.  The developers have released a statement acknowledging the problem and steers players to the game’s Discord for future updates.

We’re aware that some PlayStation players are experiencing login and network issues. Our team is actively investigating the problem and working to identify the cause. We’ll share updates as soon as we have more information.

Anyone trying to access PSN on a PS5 console or PC that also requires a PSN sign-in are being hit with error screens with the code WS-116486-6 on console.

According to PlayStation, the error code indicates that “there was an issue connecting to the server.”

Downdector is also indicating that users have been reporting issues accessing PSN since 12 pm BST in the UK.

Since then, the rate of reports on Downdetector is slowly decreasing. It seems like connections are irregular instead of inaccessible. Other players are reporting being able to sign in and access the game after several attempts.

This is the first time MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls has been available for the public. It’s unclear whether or not the game being available for PC owners for the first time is contributing to the current outage.

The open beta runs from July 24-26 across PC and PS5. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026.
