Denki and PQube have locked in September 17, 2026 as the launch day for Sniper Dan, a 3D hidden object game built around a sniper rifle and no violence whatsoever. The digital version covers PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam. A boxed copy is coming as well, though PlayStation 5 is the only platform getting one. A trailer accompanied the announcement, featuring several of Dan’s more unusual jobs.
Dan works as a handyman, and the rifle is how he gets the jobs done. Nobody in Clumsy County is ever at risk from him. A shot might go toward a bolt that needs tightening or a firework that needs lighting, and one assignment involves a pelican with a habit of taking things that aren’t its own. A lot of the work involves fixing equipment that’s gone wrong. Locating the target is most of the work. Scenes are packed with detail, and the game expects players to take in the whole picture before committing to a shot, often working from clues that don’t point anywhere obvious. Completed jobs pay out in money and reputation, both of which go back into rifle upgrades and decorating the office Dan operates from.
Gary Penn, who directs the game at Denki, has described the concept as a deliberate mismatch of genres, calling it “Where’s Waldo? colliding with Point Blank.” Sniper Dan was first revealed in February alongside a playable Steam demo. That demo picked up an update in May, released with an explainer video, and was positioned ahead of June’s Steam Next Fest. The game is also headed to gamescom 2026. Nintendo chose it for a lineup of eight games it is running within the Indie Arena Booth, where attendees will get their first opportunity to play the Switch build.
Sniper Dan is available to wishlist now on Steam, with a Demo available.
