Yeah that sure is Bob.
Bob, the unlikeliest of now Tekken mainstays, has made his big debut for Tekken 8, bringing his speed and weight to a new game. After first appearing in Tekken 6 then appearing in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (twice), Tekken 7, and even making an appearance in Street Fighter x Tekken, it was perhaps inevitability that Bob would show up in Tekken 8, though this is probably a bit later than the Bob faithful would have preferred.
Bob has a lot of his staple moves from his legacy appearances such as his hyper acrobatic flips, his belly bump power crush, and Spinner Ball special. But like all returning Tekken 8 characters he has a bit of spice added to him via the Heat system. There’s also a bit of spice added in his design, as he appears to be an onigiri salesman now. Said onigiri no doubt adds the precious fat needed to effortlessly deflect a punch from Kazuya in their pre-match intro.
Bob is set to release pretty soon, on August 24h, 2026 at the tail end of the summer season. Though if you stick around until the end of the trailer, you will see a special guest appearance from the next character, the boxing kangaroo Roger Jr. in a pretty funny reference to an ancient meme of an Australian man punching a kangaroo.
Roger will be the next character to get a big EVO trailer for Tekken 8, this time at EVO France on October 11th, 2026. So if Bob isn’t exactly your jam as a silly DLC character then maybe the hopping marsupial martial artist is more your speed, and after Roger we of course have the Baki guest character Yujiro to look forward to, who will likely also be a silly DLC character.
