Call of Duty is easily one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world, and with it comes a long line of games dating back to the PlayStation 2. And one of the biggest eras for Call of Duty was on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and the two games released on those consoles were Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 & 2. These two titles have been heralded as some of the best Call of Duty games of all time, and many have been calling for their return, as it’s been ten-plus years since they were released. After many years, Treyarch has finally answered the call: on June 17, they tweeted on X that both Call of Duty games are being ported to PlayStation by Iron Galaxy Studios in July 2026, so it’s a big month for PlayStation fans of both games and consoles.

Not much is known about how these ports will work and how much they will cost. I can imagine not that much, since they are both ten-plus-year-old games, and they aren’t remastering them, simply porting from the information we have as of now. It is known that both games will have campaigns, zombies, and multiplayer modes. It’s nice that the ports have finally been officially confirmed, as they were leaked a week before the announcement, with many expecting them to be revealed at one of the many recent game shows.
As mentioned before, the two Call of Dutys are extremely beloved by the community, and many are waiting in anticipation for the games as they want to relive the old days and go back to when Call of Duty was at its peak for many. It’s always nice to see old games brought back and ported so that many can experience them, either for the first time or out of nostalgia, and it allows games to continue to exist beyond the hardware on which they were first released. Both Call of Duty: Black Ops are being ported to PlayStation in July by Iron Galaxy Studios. Not much is known about how much they cost, but it’s only a matter of time, so stay tuned for any updates via their social media.
