Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Tainted Pact Games have announced that Flesh Made Fear will launch for PlayStation 5 on June 25. A PS5 announcement trailer went live with the news, showing the retro survival horror game’s fixed-camera setup, tank controls, puzzle rooms, and combat against infected enemies. The game first launched for PC via Steam on October 31, 2025.
The game follows the Reaper Intervention Platoon, also known as R.I.P., a covert unit sent to neutralize Victor “The Dripper” Ripper. Ripper is a former CIA agent whose experiments have turned an isolated town into a dangerous area filled with monsters and controlled thralls. The mission leads players through the surrounding town and into Ripper’s mansion-laboratory, where the source of the outbreak is connected to his work. The structure is built around older survival horror systems. Players move through fixed and dynamic camera angles, manage a limited inventory, solve puzzles to open new paths, and save with collectible items. Safe room storage is also part of the gameplay, making item planning a core part of how the player moves through each area.
Combat is meant to be handled carefully. Ammunition is limited, and encounters force the player to decide whether it is better to fight, avoid an enemy, or save supplies for a later room. Weapons shown and listed for the game include firearms such as pistols and heavier options, while enemy designs draw from the failed experiments surrounding Ripper. Two playable characters are available. Natalie has less health but more inventory space, while Jack has more health and fewer item slots. Each character has separate stats and story elements, giving the campaign different routes depending on who the player chooses.
In a previous interview, Cosio described Flesh Made Fear as a throwback survival horror game built around a retro PSX style, tank controls, limited inventory space, and resource management. He also pointed to the original Resident Evil trilogy as a major design influence, while noting that Flesh Made Fear adds quality-of-life elements such as a laser sight system, improved reloading, and a dodge mechanic.
Flesh Made Fear is available now on PC via Steam. The PlayStation 5 version launches June 25.
