The second Steam Next Fest of the year has just kicked off today, June 15, 2026. Steam Next Fest was originally started as the Steam Game Festival in 2019, before it was rebranded in 2021, and hosts hundreds of new game demos each time. The digital showcase occurs three times a year in February, June, and October, with two main intentions: matching players with upcoming games, and giving developers a chance to receive feedback from players who may have never heard of their game before.
Every demo featured in Steam Next Fest is completely free to play during the week of the showcase, but most do get removed once the festival is over. It may be difficult, however, for Steam enthusiasts to play through every demo this time around. The June 2026 Steam Next Fest is the largest showcase in the event’s history so far, featuring almost 5,000 games spanning across multiple genres.
The trailer alone teases fourteen of these upcoming releases: Hull Rupture, Iron Nest: Heavy Turret Simulator, Locktale, Echoes of Aincrad, We Were Here Tomorrow, Shroom and Gloom, As One We Survive, D-topia, Trees Hate You, The Rabbit Haul, Frog Island, One Coin Museum, ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs, and Worming From Home. Almost all of these titles are set to release at some point this year, with the exception of Hull Rupture’s unknown release date, and As One We Survive coming out in 2027. Two of these games have set release dates: Echoes of Aincrad coming out on July 9, and D-topia coming out five days later on July 14.
The largest Steam Next Fest is happening right now, and will wrap up on June 22, 2026. Every demo can be found on Steam, and every featured game is available for fans to add to their wishlists. The kickoff trailer can be viewed below from the official Steam YouTube channel.
