Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, the latest and newest chapter to the much beloved Poppy Playtime, has finally announced that on May 27th, fans will be able to play the Chapter on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. 

The YouTube announcement by Mob entertainment, shows Huggy Wuggy skulking through a dark hallway towards the player as the words “CHAPTER 5 IS COMING TO CONSOLES” flashes, then a raggedy doll with sharp teeth accosts the player. The playable character moves along, expanding their left arm to grab and pull levers, as well as explore much of Chapter 5 before going to a machine. There’s a flashback of someone saying “rise and shine” as the player wakes looking up, someone with a glove takes a chicken toy to a box, and someone in a hazmat-like suit transports the player before the flashback ends. 

The video continues with the player walking after Huggy Wuggy, watching what it’s doing. Huggy Wuggy screams at the player, then the player runs through the area, with various monsters, large and small moving around, before Huggy Wuggy starts chasing the player. Many attempts are made on the players’ life including sharp wheeled cutters that push into the roof above the playable character in an attempt to get at them. A mirror is shattered as a limb cuts through it in front of the playable character, then “POPPY PLAYTIME 5,” and the release date and consoles it’ll be on ends the video. 

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 previously released on Steam and Epic Games Store, February 18th of this year, so the game coming to console this May 27th is a gift to fans who have been waiting to play for a month.  The Steam Game release announcement for Chapter 5 describes the Chapter as, “You find yourself diving deeper into the wrongside of an abandoned toy factory: The Prototype’s domain. Solve daring puzzles, escape horrifying toy experiments, and unravel the dark truth about Playtime Co.’s dark past.” Those who want a feel of the chapter can check out either released versions before the console version releases.
