Prophecy Games, the indie studio behind the hit science fiction FPS roguelite Deadzone: Rogue, announced on March 12 that Deadzone: Rogue 2 is in development, and with it came a trailer showing off the game. It is unknown when the game will be released, but you can wishlist it for PC via Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. They also announced that a demo for the game is coming soon, so keep an eye out for it.
Some key features that are coming with the new game are entering the deadzone, Earth has fallen to monarch, so you will play as Talon 13-10, and you will fight them back in an all-new campaign that’s built for 3 players or solo play. Team up with a squad and take on missions on any difficulty from casual to nightmare. As per the rules, roguelites become stronger upon death, and you’ll be able to slot in imprints and resonances to upgrade your loadouts, permanently going from a cybernetic sniper to a cybernetic juggernaut. You will also be able to forge your builds, creating impossible builds with hundreds of unique augments, items, perks, and elemental weapons each run. You can also mix and master different combat styles from berserker to stealth assassin.
With the new game, Monarch, the major enemy will be relentless in trying to take you down, so battle your way through new hostile environments filled with hunter patrols, biomechanical hordes, and towering bosses. You will combat this by unleashing elemental weapons, from turning a grenade into a chain lightning storm to shattering rooms with an ice SMG, so harness 30 elements and destroy your enemies. In the end, this is all to reclaim Earth from Monach, continue the Talon 13-10 story, and experience an all-new soundtrack as you reclaim Earth.
Deadzone: Rogue was highly well-received, and many hoped for a sequel. Now it’s on the way with a demo right around the corner. The game looks to be going bigger and bolder with the new game, and adding lots of quality of life changes from the original and from the trailer alone, this is a game to look out for if you enjoy roguelites, as this one is living up to its name. The game is also indie-made, so a lot is riding on its initial launch, but from what has been showcased, the game will be looking at being a big hit like many other indie games have this year alone, as many have been nonstop charting. As mentioned before, the game has no official release date yet, but the demo is coming very soon. You can wishlist the game now on Steam and consoles and stay up to date on the demo and its release.
