Having recently released the news of Rainbow Six Siege’s new year content coming out, Ubisoft revealed what players get to look forward to. The only catch with this type of content delivery is that each year, players will either cough up more money for content, or watch as others move on while you must grind to unlock the previous characters.
Within the post, Ubisoft discussed what the new season would offer for the price. With year one coming to an end, they had this to say:
The Year 1 Season Pass will be ending soon and we will be ushering in the new Year 2 Pass on November 29th, with the first 2 operators slated to launch in February 2017. The pass grants you several instant benefits beginning November 29th, including a free Obsidian Weapon Skin if you purchase the Year 2 Pass before February 7th, 2017. Additionally, if you owned the Year 1 Season Pass, you will receive a bonus 600 R6 Credits on top of the 600 that comes with the Year 2 Pass.
For year two, the new content will take players to places like Spain, Hong Kong, Poland, and South Korea. Each of the new locations will have a new map. There will also be eight new operators being added to the arsenal, all with fresh new tactics and gadgets.
Rainbow Six Siege has had an incredible year of content, and we appreciate every single one of you who have championed the game since launch and before. The community is the reason why this game is stronger than ever entering Year 2, and we are excited to share details about what is to come in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 2, and the Year 2 Pass.
In addition to the year two pass, players can now get their hands on two new additions of the game. The Gold Version will give players the original game along with the year two pass at the price of $80. If you opt to get the Complete edition for PC, which will come later on Xbox One and PS4, for around $100.
It is also important to note that purchasing the year two pass will not give you access to the previous years content. This means that to get those characters, you’ll have to spend 2,600 R6 credits, which equates to about $20 if you purchase the credits with physical money. If you purchase a year two pass you will be given 600 R6 credits, which could potentially be used toward last years content.
If you wish to spend more money on the game then you can pick up a two year pass right now. For more information about the content then you’ll have to wait until the Siege fan event Six Invitational on February 3rd through the 5th.
