Ubisoft will be releasing a beta for March 2017’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands during the “next quarter” according to CEO Yves Guillemot. It’s unknown what Guillemot means by “next quarter.” The current fiscal quarter is during the months of October and December. Logically, the “next quarter” could be sometime in early 2017, which makes sense since Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set for release in March 7, 2017.
Guillemot mentioned that there will be open betas and closed betas. He also said that he is doing the pre-release testing period so that play can get a feel for what the game provides players before the game arrives.
Guillemot said that feedback has been excellent and that Ghost Recon: Wildlands “can be a revolutionary game, and to compare with The Division last year, it’s in the same trend actually.”
Players had some issues with The Division, saying that the game fell short of its promises as well as numerous glitches and exploits that made the game more difficult to play. The developers are trying to avoid the same mistakes that The Division had.
Guillemot says he’s optimistic about the new betas.
We expect in the next quarter to do some open betas and closed betas that will help a lot on the players to actually know what the game is and what it can become. We are very confident it will excite gamers a lot.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is based on a select group of US Special Forces called Ghost. Players will be able to customize their characters. There are four archetypes that give support to players who are doing single player playthrough missions. Your weapons and gear are able to be customized as well.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands takes place in Bolivia. The map is made of 10 distinct regions, each having a cartel leader for you to get rid of. Missions include disrupting drug distribution, as well as stopping human sex trafficking and other criminal enterprising.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be available for Ps4, Xbox One and PC on March 7, 2017.
