The expansions for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline are free again as a part of EA’s “Road to Battlefield 1” campaign. Generally, campaigns like this one usually only apply to one expansions, but all major expansions will be free again. They were currently made available for free on May 4 for a short time as a part of a similar campaign “Road to Battlefield.”
Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson Hyrb announced that Battlefield 4 expansions China Rising, Second Assault, Naval Strike and Final Stand are completely free. The free release for the PS4 is now also available, but the free PC release is still to be released.
After you download the expansions, they are yours to keep. You do not need an Xbox Gold Membership to take advantage of the free downloads, but you will still need to have the Xbox Gold Membership in order to play the game online. The offer started on September 13 and will last for only one week.
The prices for each of the Expansions were originally $14.99 for PS4 and $15 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. You can find all of the games and expansions for their respective systems on the Playstation Blog and the previously mentioned blog for Microsoft’s Hyrb.
Earlier on May 4, a representative for EA revealed why they were allowing gamers to have the expansions for free and what else players will expect.
A new Battlefield is coming later this year, and we’re celebrating by keeping the action going in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. There are also new Community Missions and a whole lot more to get excited about.
The new game, Battlefield 1, is set for release on October 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The beta of the game recently wrapped up, which allowed players to explore the new massive Sinai Desert map, which allows the players to get the feel for the World War 1 shooter.
