Ubisoft made an announcement today that should send fans of The Division into a frenzy. Today the developer announced that it would be creating a public test server in which it will allow PC players to test potential updates and new features before they are put into game.
“As many pointed out after we announced Update 1.4, a great way to involve you would be to let you try the update before its release. Good news! We are thrilled to confirm that we will be opening a public test server on PC for The Division in the near future”.
Ubisoft’s goal is to let players help decide what works in The Division in an effort to let fans be more involved with how the game will be developed. Players choosing to use the test server will be able to give direct feedback to the studio prior to the updates being released. This is beneficial to the whole community by allowing only a few people test the new content without any of the bugs affecting anyone else.
Ubisoft plans to release more details about the new server, “in the coming days, but we wanted to break the news as soon as possible so you can have full visibility on the next steps we are implementing to improve the game.”
Prior to this news, Ubisoft made the decision to delay bringing in new content in an effort to prioritize where the game will be going. The update will instead focus on fixing bugs and other game elements which in turn will make for a more enjoyable experience. Update 1.4 will include:
- Fixing bugs, including those listed in our Known Issues as well as many other ones
- Making loot drops more relevant to the player
- Enemy difficulty and time to kill
- Gear Sets and weapons balancing
- Solo player experience
- Dark Zone and PvP balancing
- Quality of life additions based on community suggestions (such as weapon skins no longer taking inventory space)
More in depth details about the update will come in the near future.
