A&R Atelier has announced Ecco the Dolphin: Complete, a package that gathers every version of the original Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time alongside a brand-new Ecco title built for modern platforms. The announcement was made today, April 22, 2026. No release date or list of release platforms has been confirmed.
The collection spans the full early history of the series, from the 8-bit Master System era through the 16-bit Genesis/Mega Drive generation. The classic games are preserved in their original form and “freely explorable.” Alongside those titles is a new Ecco game that extends the franchise into the modern era and ties the series’ history together into what the studio refers to as a “single, unified experience.”
Ecco the Dolphin: Complete is being developed by the original members of the Ecco development team, reunited for the first time in more than 30 years. Series creator Ed Annunziata is involved alongside members of the teams that handled the original music, art, and programming. A&R Atelier is based in Half Moon Bay, California. Its roster comprises original members of the classic Ecco team, and the studio is now developing all new Ecco the Dolphin titles in partnership with SEGA. The package features built-in speedrunning support, achievements, and leaderboards, alongside “meta quests” that span across both the original games and the new contemporary title. A custom course system lets players and community creators assemble their own courses using levels pulled from any game in the franchise, then distribute those courses to other players. The design is pitched at players, streamers, and speedrunners.
A&R Atelier is using today’s announcement to open early preview access tied to an Earth Day event. The studio is directing fans to their website for preview content, community sign-ups, and direct contact with the development team. The official Ecco the Dolphin Discord, launched alongside the studio’s January 2026 confirmation of the franchise’s revival, is still active.
Further details on Ecco the Dolphin: Complete, including platforms and release window, are expected through their site, where a countdown timer is currently running in the lower-left corner of the page.
