Earlier in the Week, Master of the Mow, a relaxing indie simulation game, dropped its announcement trailer. The game developed by David Lopez, doesn’t quite have a timeline for arrival but the game is available to wishlist on Steam.
The Master of the Mow announcement trailer opens up to nostalgic graphics, and a first person view point, launching one back to early sims games. It shows a quick glance of a massive sprawling mansion, before a mow is placed on the grass, and starts to work. The character is shown to simply mow, sometimes with various designs and lines, the grass until he uncovers a brooch. Once the brooch is equipped, the character moves towards a yellow cottage, inside it houses a computer with the option to sell.
The game showcases some inventory and their prices, presumably gotten from the characters’ inventory, the character hovers and clicks a button to sell and money is transferred. The character goes to another computer with a “Workbench” that upgrades “abilities, inventory, trimmers” etc. It also gives players the ability to refuel the mowers. The character goes back to mowing the grass, then carrying a wheelbarrow and a shovel. In game mechanics, players are able to pick up branches, click on various types of dirt piles to shovel, as well as piles of flowers. Items like bottles can be collected and stored in the wheelbarrow to transport to some kind of dustbin.
Before and after clearing the Mansion flutters on the screen, then a bed with the ability to sleep, As the character sleeps, the grass grows back overnight. In the morning, the mow is dispatched again, and grass is cut, a green sonar spreads across the grass, and rider mower is driven over the grass. On the Workbench, “Nitro boosters,” are available which cause the rider mower to move extremely fast with flames coming from exhaust pipes, and the hand mower works twice as fast. The trailer seemingly ends with a Master of the Mow title page, however, in the last few minutes of the trailer, the playable character is seen walking towards the mansion in the dark and opening up the mansion. With this teaser at the end, Master of the Mow seems to be more than a simple mowing game, and burgeoning surprises await.
