Life is Strange may have gotten a surprise earlier this year with the ratings leak of the next game in the franchise: Life is Strange: Reunion. The game has since been made official alongside the twist. The surprise comes in the form of the return of Chloe Price, Max’s best friend from childhood, which seems inexplicable following the ending of the first game. If you were wondering, Chloe will not be voiced by Ashly Burch, who was the original voice actor in the first game. Chloe will be voiced once again by Rhianna DeVries who took on the role in the prequel, Before the Storm. Despite this, Burch talked about Reunion, the franchise, and how Max and Chloe will always have a special place in her heart in an interview with Eurogamer.

Like everyone else, Burch doesn’t “know a lot about this project. I wasn’t asked to reprise my role as Chloe, so I’m learning about Reunion at the same time as the fans,” Burch tells Eurogamer, before adding she is “grateful people still care so much about these characters.”

Burch says that “Max and Chloe will always have a special place in my heart.”

Life is Strange: Reunion has players hop in the shoes of both Max and Chloe as they try to prevent a deadly inferno that will destroy Caledon University. As Max uses her Rewind power to go back three days into the past, she unbwknownst to her, merged timelines, which results with the return of Chloe who retains the memories of being both alive and dying and gets nightmares about Max’s friend Safi, from the last game, Double Exposure. Now they have to work together to identify the culprits of the fire before Max’s friends meet their fiery demise.

Life is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
