

At The Game Awards 2025, Wizards of the Coast and Invoke Studios surprised audiences with the announcement of Warlock, a fresh Dungeons & Dragons themed action-adventure title set to join the iconic tabletop franchise’s expanding presence in video games.
Warlock puts players into the shoes of Kaatri played by the award winning Tricia Helfer, a character embodying the archetypal warlock class from D&D lore wielding powerful magic and navigating a world steeped in fantasy adventure. The game is designed as a third-person action experience that blends fast-paced combat with narrative exploration, promising to bring the rich lore and spell casting depth of Dungeons & Dragons to life in an interactive digital format.
Developed by Invoke Studios in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, Warlock represents a significant push to expand the D&D brand beyond tabletop gameplay and into cinematic, story driven gaming. While details on gameplay mechanics remain limited, early presentations suggest a focus on immersive world building and character driven storytelling, aligned with the franchise’s fantasy roots.
In a press release from Invoke General Manager, Dominic Guay had this to say about the game. “Working with our colleagues at Wizards of the Coast on a brand as rich as D&D has given the team the creative freedom and support to build a new ambitious open-world experience for players. We’re excited to finally announce Warlock and looking forward to sharing gameplay details in the future.”
The announcement set Warlock alongside other major reveals at the 2025 awards show, positioning it as one of the standout upcoming titles aimed for release in Summer of 2026. with a deeper gameplay showcase expected in the summer of 2026. Warlock: Dungeon and Dragons is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
