Who doesn’t love Gundam? Well if you ask a typical Gundam fan you’d probably get an answer somewhere along the lines of Bandai Namco, but occasionally Bandai Namco decides to throw the Gundam players a bone that doesn’t include plastic and this latest one is the form of a gacha game, SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL.
Now, SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL has been in development for quite some time at this point. It was first announced a couple of years ago and then went radio silent for quite some time before resurfacing recently, with the announcement that they are now opening the doors for pre-registration.

Gacha is always a polarizing game genre due to its very nature, but as you can see from the sheer numbers, there is certainly a playerbase for it. 600,000 pre-registers since the announcement last week is very impressive and the number is likely only going to climb. Players hitting that registration goal of 800,000 users is very realistic and they might even scratch the surface of a full million should momentum continue this way.
Gundam is one of the most profitable IPs in the world, so the only real shock here is that it took so long for something like this to happen after the shutdown of Gundam Breaker Mobile in June 2023. With the success of FromSoft’s Armored Core 6, as well as the highly anticipated upcoming Mecha Break PvP by Seasun Games, it really looks like robots are making a comeback into the mainstream so it was only a matter of time before Gundam started throwing its hat back into the mix again. Perhaps SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL is an indication of more Gundam game projects to come, after all the recently released Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom was a VR interactive anime as well, and the newest Gundam anime GQuuuuuuX is on the horizon, so this is definitely a good time for some multi-media exposure.
If you’re interested in rolling for Freedom Gundam parts to stick onto your Jegan in your spare time then SD Gundam G Generation ETERNAL is currently accepting pre-registers for the full game here. As shown above, we’re already likely to receive free goodies thanks to the number of registrations, and the more people who sign up the more we’ll get, so look forward to that!
