Originally announced at E3 2015, Bethesda’s Hearthstone competitor based on their popular fantasy series, Elder Scrolls: Legends, returned this year to give fans a look at the game’s story mode and opening cinematic.
Bethesda’s Global VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines took to the stage to talk a little bit about the game’s campaign.
The story is told from the perspective of a moth priest named Kellen and from what he said in the trailer, the Elder Scrolls have show him a lot. The story he tells is about a forgotten hero from a great war (no, not that Great War) between the High Elves and the Imperials. This unnamed hero could potentially be the player character whose action we are told through Kellen.
Before the trailer Hines promised that, the campaign would be “complete with a compelling story, interesting characters, and some great gameplay.”
While originally thought to be only on PC and iPad, Hines announced that Elder Scrolls: Legends would be coming iPhone, Mac, and Android devices as well.
The game began public beta testing in April, but spots were limited. So if you weren’t able to get it fear not because Bethesda will be opening up the beta to more people for E3. You can sign up for the beta on their site here all you have to do is create a Bethesda account. It’s not clear if everyone will get access to the beta, so all you can do is sign up fast and watch you email.
Elder Scrolls: Legends is a free-to-play collectable card game that will be out for PC, iOS, Mac, and Android devices. Other than the beta, there is no word on when the game will be officially released.
Bethesda announced a ton of other games during the conference too, which you can watch here, including more Fallout 4 DLC, the return of Prey, and a remastered version of Skyrim.
