It’s been three years since WayForward Technologies embarked upon the latest title in their Shantae platformer series, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. What began as a resounding crowdfunded success on Kickstarter has now received a release date of September 27, 2016 in the US.

According to statements by WayForward in the tweet’s comments section, Half-Genie Hero’s September 27 release date and $29.99 price tag will be universal to the game’s retail and digital versions.
If you’re interested in pre-ordering what will be Shantae’s first adventure featuring 3D models, in retail format, you can do so on Gamestop’s website. No word has yet been given on when Half-Genie Hero will be available for digital pre-order on Steam.
