1047 Games has revealed a first look at gameplay from their highly-anticipatred free-to-play shooter Splitgate 2, debuting a new gameplay trailer on their official YouTube channel. The trailer can be watched here:
The new trailer breaks down new additions to the game, inlcuding the addition of a sliding move, bringing more agility to the player’s arsenal. A new “faction” system consisting of three classes will also be arriving in Splitgate 2, similar to that of fellow free-to-play shooter The Rivals, is the biggest new feature debuting in the sequel. Splitgate 2’s three factions, Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask, each come with their own set of new, unique moves supporting different playstyles.
The Aeros faction will focus on fast movement and offensive combat, with a signature “Rush” ability that boosts movement and reload speed to get players into the action faster. The Meridian faction is a support class focused on healing teammates and long-range combat, equipped with a special “Hypersight” ability that allows the user to see enemies through walls and across the map. The third faction, Sabrask, is a defense-based class with enhanced grenades and a special Smart Wall that blocks enemy bullets while allowing the caster to shoot through freely. Players are welcome to mix-and-match with whatever combination of factions they desire, with the vast majority of gameplay revolving around fast-paced 4v4 matches.
While no release date has been confirmed for the game as of yet, 1047 Games has announced that Splitgate 2 will be holding its first round of Alpha tests on August 21-25, in unison with their appearance on the show floor at Gamescom. Fans can also get an extended look at gameplay for Splitgate 2 at noon on August 14, when 1047 Games will be holding a livestream on the Splitgate Twitch channel featuring an extended look at gameplay and more from the game.
