Beat Saber will be ending support for the Meta Quest 1 starting November this year, according to the game’s developer Beat Games. In an updated FAQ, the Czech indie studio went into detail on the upcoming changes, explaining that in order to “raise the bar” for what’s possible with Beat Saber, they would need to move from the platform.

As such, Meta Quest 1 support will end on November 2, 2024. Players will still be able to play Beat Saber but support for the game like updates and customer support will be over. Additionally, while unconfirmed, Beat Games noted that features like Multiplayer and Leaderboards will be phased out as well. 

Thankfully, there is still a way for Meta Quest 1 users to play the game through its PC version. Players can  access the Beat Saber PC version via the Meta Quest Link.

Players that are interested in transferring their data to a different headset can transfer it easily through the Meta Quest and Rift platforms. According to Beat Studio, crossplay is supported between all Meta Quest and Rift headsets due to the data being tied to a player’s account.

Since its release in 2018, as a flagship title Beat Saber was and continues to be one of the most popular VR rhythm games on the market. After being acquired by Meta in 2019, the game has only risen into new heights. In 2022, the game made over $255 million in revenue and in 2023, Beat Saber was the best selling game for PlayStation VR in US and Canada, coming in second place in Europe, according to Statista. While it is still unknown, Beat Saber has likely sold well over six million units, considering it passed 4 million units sold in 2021.

Beat Saber is available on the Meta Quest, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam where its rated 10 out of 10.
