A recent report from Games Industry.Biz revealed the development of an upcoming G.I. Joe Snake Eyes game. According to the report, this is one of many titles currently in the works at Hasbro and it’s subsidiaries, thanks to the company’s reported over $1 billion investment into game development and the success of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Wizards of the Coast‘s head of digital product development Dan Ayoub, gave some insight on the new G.I. Joe game and Hasbro’s future in the video game industry in an interview at the Game Developers Conference.
“Video games is an integral part of Hasbro’s strategy going into the next 100 years and we have to make sure that everything that comes out is top quality, is authentic,” said Ayoub. “And is something we can build upon, because we’re talking about a couple studios and a couple games right now, but we have much larger ambitions for that.”
According to Ayoub, the games development studio Atomic Arcade, who has previously worked on Batman: Arkham Asylum, hopes to emulate something similar with Snake Eyes as they did with the caped crusader. Ayoub hopes that this game will be “a shot in the arm to the G.I. Joe franchise.”

However, G.I. Joe isn’t the only franchise with titles in the works at Hasbro. Ayoub also noted that a Dungeons & Dragons game is in development by Invoke Studios, and a new franchise called Exodus is being developed by Archetype.
In addition to already existing IP, Hasbro hopes to build new IP within the video game industry and use those franchises for other ventures. Currently it’s unknown when these projects are expected to release.
That said, Ayoub noted that Hasbro wasn’t going to rush it’s internal studios, stating that “they’re going to stay in the oven as long as it needs to,”
More information on future Hasbro games will likely be revealed in the in the near future.
