Perish is a Mythology Action FPS Indie game that was developed by ITEM42 and published by HandyGames. The game was originally released on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2023. On April 15th of this year, Perish will be on platforms such as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Perish is a “1-4 player game” where players will kill a swarm “of creatures on the scorched sands of Purgatory and sell their gold-stained corpses to craven priests”. Players will slay impressive bosses and utilize the proceeds to get access to the “entrance to Elysium, a place of cosmic revelations”. In the game, you play as amyetri, “who is a corporeal spirit condemned to live a shadow life in the halfway realm of Purgatory.” To “put an end to your suffering,” you have to “initiate the Rites of Orpheus” and beat “the chthonic deities that dominate your fractious path to Elysium.” Here are the features of the game according to Perish’s Steam page:
- 1-4 player online co-op campaign sprawling across dilapidated temples, volcanic foundries, and ancient shipwrecks.
- A series of magnificent boss-fights against rare and unexplored colossal deities from ancient Greek mythology.
- More than 10 handcrafted and ornate javelins, swords, bows, and guns each with its own unique and upgradeable offensive capabilities.
- Gratuitous, brutal, blood-soaked ranged and melee combat against enemies with distinctive battle behaviors.
- Morbid gladiators: enemies in PERISH are unforgiving, and as you travel further through Purgatory you will meet a slew of enemies inspired by Ancient Greek, Roman, and Christian mythologies.
- Post-launch support: free updates to the PERISH universe, with strange new enemies and even crazier weapons to play with
