This just in, a major military shooter franchise just had its latest installment leaked ahead of its publisher’s big reveal. Wait, didn’t this just happen, like, not even a week ago?
Yes, for the second time in nearly a week a publisher’s big reveal has been screwed over by an advertisement, this time it was on the Xbox One.
Ahead of DICE’s big announcement over on their live stream, an ad popped up on the Xbox promoting the next Battlefield game. The tile confirmed after much speculation that it would be set in World War 1.
In the picture, borrowed from Game Informer, you can see our new cape wearing friend brandishing a Mauser and holding a spiked trench club. Apparently he is a Harlem Hellfighter, a member of an all African American regiment that fought in WW1.
After Xbox ran the ad, Reddit got a hold of some retail promotional posters for the upcoming game. The posters show that instead of going with Battlefield 5, the game will instead be called Battlefield 1.
But wait, there’s more. Twitter user Wario64 posted a better picture of the posters, confirming the game’s release date as October 18th and will come with the Hellfighter Pack. The pack will have a set of items “inspired by the Harlem Hellfighter Infantry Regiment”.

Two of the biggest military shooters are both getting sequels this year and are both going in radically different directions. One going into space and the other going into the past, it’s up to players to decide which is the better game. But there is one thing everyone can agree on, these games are going to make bank.
