Developed by Camelot Software Planning, the original 2001 release of Golden Sun followed the story of four heroes Isaac, Garet, Ivan and Mia journeying to an ancient power from being unleashed by a team of villains And plunging their world of Weyard into chaos.
The direct sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age, follows the villains of the first game Felix, Jenna, Sheba, Kraden, as they journey with Felix on his quest to prove that Alchemy might be just the thing to save the world of Weyard from destruction after all.
The original games allowed co-op gameplay, where friends could tag alongside the game’s narrative as they faced a variety of puzzle-solving, turn-based battles and character upgrades.
While it’s still unknown what other features might be added to these versions of the game, some features from the original games have been confirmed via Nintendo’s Japanese website.
According to Nintendo Life, first spotted by X/Twitter user IsaacAdepts, players will be able to transfer data across from Golden Sun to its sequel, in a similar way as was done in the original games via emulating the link cable method according to the Japanese press release.
