Looks like we’ll be heading to the post-apocalypse just in time for the holidays. Rocket League developer Psyonix dropped their newest Chaos Run DLC trailer today and – well – take a look for yourself.
The newest DLC dropping in December will be bringing a plethora of Mad Mad-esque themed content. The full list as depicted in the trailer is listed below.
- 2 New Vehicles (Grog and Ripper)
- 2 New Rocket Trails (Sandstorm and Nuts & Bolts)
- 2 New Paint Types (Camo and Sun-Damaged)
- 3 New toppers (Boombox, Mohawk, and Cow Skull)
- 3 New Antennas (Bomb Pole, Radioactive, and Retro Ball)
- 2 New Wheels
- 12 New Decals (6 for each new Battle-Car)
- 5 New Trophies
Coming in December as a free update is a new battle arena “Wasteland” named after a similar map from Rocket League’s prequel Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. The map, in theme with the coming DLC, will be the game’s first non-regulation arena. It stands out from the rest with a much physically wider pitch, its different booster placements, and most notably the sloped perimeter of the map in which will have players adjusting their playstyles from typical Rocket League arenas.
“It’s the first of many “unusual” arena designs that we plan to introduce in the future” Psyonix’s VP of Marketing Jeremy Dunham states, with the new coming arenas to be “more interesting”.
Original music from Unreal and Gears of War series composer Kevin Riepl will be added alongside the content. Riepl is currently at work on the soundtrack for Gearbox’s Battleborn.
No solid date has been set for the new content’s release but will be available “early” December on Playstation 4 and PC for $3.99.
