Naughty Dogs remaster for the Last of Us Part 2 comes out in January 19th of this coming year and with it is coming a bunch of new content that was previously not available including lost levels, commentary, and cosmetics. Probably the most exciting announcement for the release was the rogue like mode called No Return. Many fans were already pretty annoyed at Naughty Dog choosing to remaster another Last Of Us game but with the announcement of the new mode, players seemed to be more open to the idea. The trailer for the mode released earlier today showcasing all the locals, gameplay, and brand new cosmetics that will be able to be used in game.

All the encounters in the mode are said to be randomized, with each encounter leading up to a boss fight. We dont know exactly what the boss types will be but there is confirmation of the terrifying Rat King returning as one of the bosses in the mode. There are confirmed to be at least 12 locals including hardware store, Jackson, Forest, State Street, Hospital, Hospital Basement, and what seems to be more unnamed ones sprinkled around the trailer. There also is a mods system in the game mode which is randomized, seems akin to Mortal Kombat fight mods such as raining fire balls, invisible enemies, and other environmental hazards.
There are ten confirmed characters that will be playable in the mode including the likes of iconic characters such as Joel, Tommy, and of course Ellie. The full character list goes Ellie, Dina, Jesse, Tommy, Joel, Abby, Lev, Yara, Mel, and Manny. Every character brings their own distinct loadout and traits that will aid them in their endless fight against both clickers and humans. Game progression is confirmed to be important as progressing unlocks more weapons and characters.
