Earlier this year, there were reports that PlayStation was working on a new handheld device. This one, formerly known as Project Q would be different from past devices like the PlayStation Vita in that it is a remote play device. Project Q was officially revealed along with official PS buds during the PlayStation Showcase in May. Today, PlayStation announced that its first Remote Play dedicated device, PlayStation Portal, and its two new audio devices, the Pulse Elite Wireless Headset and Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds, are launching later this year, with new details such as the pricing for each revealed.

PlayStation Portal brings the PlayStation 5 experience to the palm of your hand. It includes some of the key features of the DualSense Wireless Controller such as the Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback. It will feature a vibrant 8-inch LCD screen capable of 1080 resolution at 60 fps, providing a high-definition visual experience that is expected from the high-quality games created by world-class developers. PlayStation Portal connects remotely with PS5 over Wi-Fi. It can play supported games installed on a PS5 and use the DualSense Wireless Controller. PlayStation Portal also includes a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio. PlayStation has revealed that PS VR2 games which require the headset and games streamed through PlayStation Plus Premium’s cloud streaming will not be supported.

PlayStation Portal will launch later this year for $199.99.

In addition to the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, PlayStation revealed a new wireless headset called the Pulse Elite wireless headset.

The Pulse Elite offers lossless audio and will come with a retractable boom mic and AI-enhanced noise rejection capable of filtering background sounds. It will come with a charging hanger for a convenient charging and storage option.

Pulse Explore is PlayStation’s first set of wireless earbuds, providing a premium portable audio experience with dual microphones and AI-enhanced noise rejection capable of filtering background sounds. It also offers lossless audio and comes with a charging case.

Both Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore will use custom-designed planar magnetic drivers for an audiophile-level listening experience that would normally be found in premium headphones for professional sound engineers. Pulse Elite costs $149.99 and Pulse Explore will cost $199.99.

Both audio devices connect directly with PlayStation Portal by using PlayStation’s new wireless technology called PlayStation Link, delivering low latency, lossless audio and easy switching between multiple PlayStation Link hosts such as the PS5 with the USB adapter and PlayStation Portal.

The USB adapter, included with each headset, is required for PlayStation Link. The PlayStation Link USB adapter will also be sold separately and can be used on PC and Mac, so players can connect Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore to experience the same lossless and low latency audio. Both devices can connect simultaneously with a PlayStation Link supported device (PS5, PC, Mac, or PlayStation Portal) and a Bluetooth supported device. For example, Pulse Explore can be connected to PS5 (via the USB adapter) using PlayStation Link and also to a mobile phone through Bluetooth at the same time. While playing on PS5, gamers can instantly answer a call and hear it through the same Pulse Explore earbuds.

PlayStation Portal, Pulse Elite, and Pulse Explore are not the only new PlayStation Accessories coming out this year. PlayStation’s new accessibility controller, the PlayStation Access controller is releasing in December for $89.99.
