Steam categorizes Dragon Ball: The Breakers as an asymmetrical action game that follows eight players in total, seven normal survivors and one raider. The goal of the civilians is to find hidden power keys to power a time machine (their mechanism for escape). The goal of the raider is to prevent that from happening by destroying all of the civilians and/or their time machine(s).
Up until this point, Dragon Ball: The Breakers has been met with a mixed critical and fan reception, in part due to the small roster of playable characters. In the Dragon Ball: The Breakers’ Twitter account, they released a roadmap of what the seasons would offer the game. In season 1, there would be three classic Dragon Ball villains available as playable raiders (Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu), three skins for survivors (Bulma, Oolong, and Farmer), three maps and two transpheres, which can be used to transform the survivor into a Dragon Ball protagonist/use their abilities to fight the Raider. At the time, season 2’s information was undisclosed, but the trailer has unveiled all of what season 2 has to offer.
Season 2 is providing players with a new raider in Vegeta, who has playable forms from Nappa, through his Giant Ape transformation according to DualShockers. Additionally, there are going to be three new skins for survivors, including Chi-Chi, Yajirobe and King Furry, all of whom get special abilities based on the skin that is applied. There will be one more map added, based on the rocky terrain where Goku and Vegeta first fought, as well as two more transpheres. These transfers will allow players to take on the form of Super Saiyan Goku and Super Saiyan Teen Gohan. Finally, there are new cosmetics and customizations included in this season, including: Goku’s gi from Dragon Ball GT, Grandpa Gohan’s mask, Trunk’s outfit from Dragon Ball GT, and a Saibaman plush, according to NintendoSoup.
With the new season of Dragon Ball: The Breakers around the corner, fans anticipate the usage of more of their favorite Dragon Ball characters, which will become available on February 16, 2023.
