Steam Next Fest has officially begun and many game demos available for players to try as well as updates on upcoming games. From now until February 13, Steam users will have the opportunity to download demos from the many games that are available on to play. There are many adventure and role playing games in Steam’s library. But this upcoming Indie game is making a mark for gamers who enjoy Metroidvania style games. Mogus Games is developing a side scroller game and has released a few trailers. The company has taken part of the festivities and posted a trailer for their upcoming title, Afterimage.

The game is still in development but there is a demo available to download for Steam users to try out before it’s official release. Afterimage is a hand drawn 2D side scroller adventure game developed by Aurogon Shanghai brings a vibrant and colorful world of Engardin to life. After a catastrophic event swept through the land and left Engardin in ruin, an amnesiac girl named Renee who survived awakens from the ruins and sets out to regain her memory while also fighting to save the world from further destruction. As seen in the trailer, we see Renee set out in the colorful realm of Engardin. She travels through this stunning lands ranging from a desert to a shrine, snowy tundra and to a place known to ethereal beings to try to save the world from any further harm. Players are able to use different melee weapons and combat styles They’ll dodge and dash through enemies and platforming through the stages. Afterimage is scheduled to be released on all modern platforms.
